What type of workshop is this?

This is a wedding workshop that will cover how to photograph couples during an engagement or couple's session as well as on a wedding day, and tips on running a successful photography business.

How many attendees will there be?

Around 20

Will this workshop teach me how to use my camera?

We will be telling you the general settings we use when shooting, however, this isn't a class on how to use your DSLR. We highly recommend having a basic understanding of how to use your DSLR manually before attending, but it is not a requirement.

Where will the workshop be held?

We will be spending the weekend surrounded and inspired by the picturesque Canadian Rocky Mountains. More specifically, we will be hosting our workshop in Banff, AB, Canada. The workshop will take place in an intimate, chalet-style conference room at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge- perfect for fostering creativity and growth in a relaxed, supportive and non-intimidating environment. Our live shoots will be out on-location in the surrounding areas.

How much does it cost and What is included?

$1500 is the total cost and it includes two days of in-class teaching as well as an afternoon of on-location styled shoots that you are able to use in your portfolio. Lunch will be provided on both days. There will be no pre-organized dinners, but attendees are encouraged to set them up while there as a great way to get to know each other.  Also included will be a killer swag bag full of rad goodies!  Travel and accomodations are not included, however nearby hotel recommendations and special room rates will be provided.

What is your refund policy?

All payments are non-refundable but are transferable.

I’m new to wedding photography, is this the right workshop for me?

Absolutely! This workshop is open to those who want to learn more about wedding photography, take their work to the next level, or are needing a kick of inspiration. There is something to gain for all levels of photographer.

What gear should I bring?

Please bring a DSLR camera with a good lens or a few good lenses- preferably something that has a low aperture (consider renting one if you don't already have one) as well as memory cards. We will provide you with a notebook and pen.  Flashes aren't necessary, as we will only be working with natural light. There will be some live editing but the intention is more that you watch how we edit, so bringing a laptop is not necessary.

What can I expect from the live shoots?

Expect a little adventure.  The shoots won't be in a controlled environment and we'll be at the mercy of the elements (we're in Banff, after all!) But we'll roll with it and make it work- much like on a real wedding day!  Please bring appropriate footwear for possibly rough terrain, dress in warm layers (it can get very cold and windy and has even snowed in past years), and if you're bringing a camera/gear bag, please make sure it's small and portable. Rolling cases are not recommended.

To start, us three (Sharon, Tricia and Kat) will demo how we direct and shoot.  Then, we'll break up into smaller groups where you will get a chance to shoot. Expect that in your group, it'll be "shoot-out style" and you'll be working within a limited time frame. You're encouraged to really get in there and get what you need.  Don't be shy! The three of us will be there to help, guide, answer questions and give feedback.

Can I see what one of your past styled shoots looked like?

Sure!  We are very proud to say that one of them was featured on Green Wedding Shoes, and you can see the full post here:  http://greenweddingshoes.com/bohemian-wedding-inspiration-from-we-three-workshops

Please note though that the format of our lives shoots can differ from year to year. This year, we won't be doing a styled tablescape, but will instead be featuring more models, with a bigger focus on how to pose and shoot people.

What can I expect from the live editing?

We will each go over our workflow and then demo how we edit using some of the photos we took at the live shoot. You can watch the demos and can take notes, but there's no need to bring a laptop.

Can I use these images in my portfolio?

Absolutely and we encourage you to do so! We are styling the sessions specifically with this in mind for our attendees. Credit to the #wethreeworkshops and our awesome vendors is all we ask when sharing your pictures.

What happens after the workshop?  Is it good bye forever?

No way!  We hope that after this weekend of learning and bonding together, you'll feel like a part of the We Three Tribe!  We'll invite you to join our private We Three Community Facebook Page where you can continue to chat with your fellow attendees (and us!), post photos, share your growth, and continue to get support.
